VERONA – Four days of growing numbers compared to previous editions, but always dedicated to commercial opportunities, b2b events, conferences, seminars, workshops, practical sessions, demonstrations and more. With a crucial objective, which must be insisted on:spread ecological awareness (also) in the sectors of logistics, super innovative business, services, professions and education. It is the spirit that animates a Veronafiere the third edition of LetExpo, the 'green' logistics event promoted by Alis (Logistics Association of Sustainable Intermodality) and its president Guido Grimaldi.
On the day of the start of the third edition, at the ribbon cutting in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure Matteo Salvini, he highlights Grimaldi on stage and on the sidelines:“We are very happy for such an important institutional presence today and in these four days, with many ministers starting with Deputy Prime Minister Salvini. We feel the closeness and support of the Government. This fair has extraordinary numbers again this year, with 400 exhibitors.Last year we closed with 85,000 visitors, this year - announces Grimaldi - we are already at +30%.Just walk around and you can see that there is a desire to do things and enthusiasm, with an important presence among other things from the Defense Department. For us it is respect towards the institutions. There are also many young people again, this testifies to their interest in this great sector“.
It's there at the fair space also for sport and welfare, always dealing with logistics and more:“Already two years ago - continues President Alis - we chose to dedicate an entire pavilion to social issues, because I believe that a good entrepreneur must have ethics and humanity if he wants to achieve success. At the center is the generosity of Alis members, who donate a large part of the profits from these four days of the fair to charity:in the last two editions we donated 200,000 euros.I hope - Grimaldi confides - that this year's results will be superior, precisely to support the 45 foundations and social associations present with us these days".
Meanwhile, as usual, many ministers are parading at the fair, more or less at a distance.Salvini, after his speech from the stage, does not miss a tour of the stands, among which he also sees the president of Veneto Luca Zaia, together with the top management of Veronafiere starting from the president Federico Bricolo, the Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, however, intervenes via video link, interviewed by Monica Maggioni, while his colleague at Made in Italy Adolfo Urso send a video message to the fair. But there are many Government representatives who participate, in various capacities, such as the Deputy Minister of Transport Galeazzo Bignami and others, confirming the interest in the event today more than ever.
The only danger seems to be geopolitical, starting from the Red Sea, but President Alis points out this:“The Suez Canal has seen some ships lose up to 50-60% of their flow. Many operators now decide to circumnavigate Africa, extending journeys by 15 days and costs by 200%..Insurance policies for ships passing through the Suez Canal, meanwhile, are increasing significantly.Despite all this - Grimaldi reiterates - the Alis partners and our groups do not give up, and the Italian armament fleet has sent frigates to defend the Italian ships on the trade routes. We thank the Navy and the Ministry of Defense, therefore, because they ensure - recalls Grimaldi - that those 154 billion euros of trade between Italy and China are not compromised".
Meanwhile, Salvini pays homage to all of LetExpo thus, arriving at the fair welcomed by Grimaldi:“Honor to Verona and its local and regional institutions, which believed a few years ago in this beautiful fair that talks about transport, goods, road haulage, logistics and high speed. It is what I have happily followed as a minister for a year or so.Visitors are increasing and we - claims the deputy prime minister - are bringing concrete investments, from high speed to the Verona logistics sector, as well as to the Brenner works".
