ROME - Will Italy remain a competitive country on the energy market? It was discussed on the Dire news agency Tuesday 12 March, with a comparison live to take stock of the situation starting from the new Energy Decree.
The Cna Energy Manager discussed it, Barbara Gatto, the General Director Energean, Gaetano Annunziata, the President of the National Network of Local Energy Agencies, Piergabriele Andreoli and the Honourable Massimo Milani, Deputy of the Brothers of Italy. The moderation of the director of the Dire Agency Nico Perrone.
ANNUNZIATA (ENERGEAN):“DL GIVES YOU OPPORTUNITIES TO INVEST IN NEW AREAS“
“Italy is a difficult country in terms of investment but it has and there are great opportunities. The Energy Decree goes in the right direction, and that is to look at the energy issue from 360 degrees and not in just one direction. The Legislative Decree gives operators the opportunity to invest in new areas, and for gas the gas produced is sent to 'energy consumers' at a price different from the market price. The government provides that those who sell and those who buy have the possibility of knowing the price for 5 years, this is no small feat. The Decree is in the right direction, we are in the initial phase and we await the draft contract from the GSE (Energy Services Manager, ed.) and the expression of interest, which will be crucial points to understand what guarantees those who invest money have, even private individuals, to be sure of completing the investment".This was stated by Gaetano Annunziata, Energean general director, during the discussion on 'What happens with the new Energy Decree'.
CAT (CNA):“DECREE NOT ORIENTED TOWARDS SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES“
“Our members are companies that consume energy. The Energy Decree wanted to look at structural solutions in terms of national production with renewables, but the direct beneficiaries of the measure are large companies, the energy consumers, who are those with access to the presumably advantageous market conditions of the the energy that will be produced. We have not seen the Decree aimed directly at our businesses. At the same time, on the energy front, the government has moved by approving the recent Decree on the PNRR which looked at the needs of small businesses, also with the provision of important resources, over 6 billion, which will incentivize reconversion in an innovative and energy efficiency of companies' production processes, also in combination with self-production systems from renewable sources".This was stated by Barbara Gatto, energy manager of the National Confederation of Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises (CNA), during the discussion on 'What happens with the new Energy Decree'.
MILAN (FDI):“DECREE AIMED AT ENERGY AND GAS INSURING COMPANIES“
“The Energy Decree touched on more specific aspects of energy-intensive and gas-intensive companies, to ensure supply at regulated and controlled prices for a given period of time, while leaving market freedom, because we don't want to return to a government that sets tariffs. We are for the free market, but even the same, at times, must be helped and supported with adequate rules. All this has made it possible to increase gas extraction in our territory, linking it to sales at controlled prices towards companies that consume the most. For energy-intensive companies, the Decree contains important measures that concern not only economic support but also the facilitation of permits. The legislative decree also gave impetus to the identification of two areas for the production of offshore wind energy, in the sea beyond six miles from the coast".This was declared by the Honorable Massimo Milani, deputy of Fratelli d'Italia, during the discussion on 'What happens with the new Energy Decree'.
MILAN (FDI):“BY DECREE PUSH ON RENEWABLES WITHOUT DISTURBING THE LANDSCAPE“
“Nimby syndrome ('not in my backyard', ed.) is one of the problems we have in Italy and we also have a culture of 'No'.An international crisis on energy supply had to intervene to understand how important it was to self-produce in Italy from all possible sources. In the Energy Decree there is a very strong push towards renewables and we do not want to disfigure our landscape, but it is clear that we must make both needs coexist".This was declared by Massimo Milani, deputy of the Brothers of Italy.
ANDREOLI (RENAEL):“FERTILE MOMENT FOR APPLICATION OF NEW AND RENEWABLES“
“Local energy agencies are a fundamental piece for the correct conveyance of both information and the exchange models that are made, for the real application of energy policies. We find ourselves in a very interesting and very fertile moment for the push towards the application of new energies, including renewable ones. The agencies are a link between the public and private sectors, to achieve energy security and decarbonisation objectives.Training is fundamental and our Network is strengthened by the experience of the agencies, which in recent years have always operated a dialogue with companies, trade associations and public bodies, to stay abreast of the big news".This was declared by the president of the National Network of Local Energy Agencies (Renael), Piergabriele Andreoli, during the discussion on 'What happens with the new Energy Decree'.
