Running water all year round in the refuges of the Sibillini mountains in the Marche, work begins

The intervention to create a new water line for the Cristo delle Nevi and Cornaccione refuges, on the Sibillini Mountains, which were damaged by the 2018 earthquake has been approved

USSITA (Macerata) – A new water line that guarantees drinking water all year round at the Cristo delle Nevi and Cornaccione refuges, in the municipality of Ussita, in the province of Macerata, which were damaged by the earthquake of April 2018.The intervention, worth 480,000 euros obtained the green light from the earthquake cabin chaired by the 2016 earthquake repair and reconstruction commissioner Guido Castelli.

The works, which are included in the broader program of the special ordinance dedicated to the public reconstruction of the municipality of Ussita, will serve to connect the two shelters damaged by the earthquake to the "Pippetto" reservoir with a supply line of approximately 2,300 meters.In this way, compliance with the hygienic-sanitary standards of the shelters will be guaranteed and it will also be easier to use water for reconstruction sites, allowing constant availability of water. The reconstruction of the two shelters is already planned with 1.2 million euros, of which 454,000 euros destined for the Cristo delle Nevi and 800,000 euros for the Cornaccione.
