ROME - The outcome of the second competitive procedure on the PNRR measure dedicated to the development of biomethane has been published on the Energy Services Manager (GSE) website:There are 51 production plant projects, new or reconverted, eligible for financing, for a total production capacity of 25,881 standard cubic meters per hour.The Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and the GSE communicated this in a joint note.
Also counting the first procedure, there are 86 projects linked to the development of biomethane, according to criteria for the promotion of the circular economy, which will be implemented through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The opening of the third competitive procedure is scheduled for December 22nd:on this occasion the values of the reference tariffs will also be updated, according to the national consumer price index for the entire community, in line with the average cumulative inflation from November 2021 to today.
“On the development of biomethane – says the minister Gilberto Pichetto – we are speeding up the procedures, with the precious help of the GSE, to start the new plants as soon as possible:we hope for even greater participation in the third race, to give a strong boost to this central vector for the transition".
“We have found greater awareness on the part of operators regarding the procedure, also thanks to the information actions undertaken after the results of the first tender – declared the CEO of the GSE, Vinicius Moses Vigilante.– In this regard, the GSE, in view of the opening of the third procedure, is organizing a webinar to maximize participation and clarify those aspects on which we still found some documentary inconsistencies which were overcome thanks to the preliminary investigation assistance provided".
The Energy Services Manager makes available on its website the summary table of the quota of available production capacity, the number and production capacity of the admitted plants.The deadlines for the entry into operation of the plants start from the publication of the rankings.
