ROME - "We have found an adequate point of balance on the green belt ZTL.Euro 4 diesels (but also Euro 3 petrol cars, ed.) will be able to continue to circulate for a year until November 2024. The previous limits remain and will be tempered by the move in and bonus mechanisms (the carnets, ed.). LPG will then be able to circulate, contrary to the original proposal. There will be these two move-in and entry bonus mechanisms which will allow partial use of vehicles which already have limited circulation today."This is what the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, announced on the sidelines of a visit to the construction site in Piazza Venezia of line C.
“We have finalized the agreement with the Lazio Region on the amendments to the resolution - added Gualtieri - It was a long and positive discussion, and I thank the Region for the collaboration which allows us to make this measure more sustainable and consistent with the need to reconcile all objectives:health protection, therefore the reduction of the most polluting vehicles, but also the protection of the most fragile people on whom the burden of this exercise cannot be unloaded".
“All this - the mayor further said - will take a little longer than expected for the activation of the gates, because we want this to become operational when the move in is in a position to be used.As soon as we have the formalization of this agreement from the Region we will adopt a new resolution which will replace the old one and will be in force immediately. But to activate the gates, wait until the move in becomes operational, so it will take a few months for the gates. This is to allow people to be able to move in, and this takes a few months.“The Region's technicians - concluded Gualtieri - carried out monitoring with respect to the new data on air quality which arrived in the spring. On the basis of that data it was possible to remodulate the measures."
