Kidsofbrokenfuture is a clothing brand that has made sustainability its flagship. Thanks to Spartan Tech he can certify his commitment.

We know that i young they really care about sustainability: they are better prepared, more critical and more attentive than their parents and, when they open their wallet, they want to know the history of what they are about to buy. However, we also know that, in a market full of bombastic declarations, it is difficult to distinguish authentic sustainability from superficial promises.Especially in a complex sector like the fashion. This is where the story of Kidsofbrokenfuture (Kobf) a Spanish brand that makes sustainability its style, intersects with that of Spartan Tech, an Italian startup that makes the blockchain available via an intuitive, self-configuring and low-cost system.

Kidsofbrokenfuture, a new name in the fashion industry

It all starts from the degree thesis of Marta Sanchez, discussed in 2017 at the University of Barcelona. In those pages Kidsofbrokenfuture is an idea far from having a commercial development but soon Sanchez ed Elbio Bonsaglio, his partner in life too, decide to transform it into a brand. The official debut is in Los Angeles in April 2019.A choice that is anything but random:“Kids of broken future has a strong connection with California, aesthetically and in the way it communicates,” says Elbio Bonsaglio.Today Kobf has its operational headquarters in Milan and is present in various markets, the most important of which are Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The sustainable philosophy of Kidsofbrokenfuture

In the intention of the founders, the brand speaks directly to the younger generations by acting as spokesperson for positive messages, of inclusiveness and respect for the environment and people.Hence the choice to do without any animal derivatives; The cotton instead it is biological and the polyester it is recycled from plastic bottles and waste collected at sea.“Every season we try to introduce innovative fabrics that can be significant for the consumer, encouraging them to make sustainable choices. In autumn-winter 2021, for example, we presented a vegan leather obtained from the cactus plant which has a wonderful yield", continues Bonsaglio.

Still on the environmental side, Kobf has trees planted every month between Africa, Asia and Latin America and has made an agreement so that emissions from shipments are offset 100 percent. Then there is the social commitment with donations in favor of Street child, an NGO that works to guarantee children in Nigeria and Sierra Leone the right to go to school.

Sustainability certified in blockchain

Until today, however, the brand could only talk about these commitments and try to earn the trust of its audience. Not an easy challenge for a company that recently made its debut. This is where the story of Kidsofbrokenfuture intersects with that of Spartan Tech thanks to the mediation of Flowe, a benefit company of the Mediolanum group which positions itself as a sustainable digital bank.Spartan Tech is one of the first companies selected by LifeGate Way, the ecosystem dedicated to startups with a sustainable nature.

“Like all virtuous companies that put quality and the right values first, for them blockchain tracking was a fairly natural direction. And here we are!”, he says Alan Torrisi, co-founder of Spartan Tech.“Spartan Tech uses blockchain to notarize every step, every material, every place and every person who is responsible for that specific segment of the supply chain that leads to the creation of an item of clothing. It puts the various pieces together in a transparent and verifiable way.It is important that virtuous companies like Kidsofbrokenfuture have the opportunity to highlight their good work."

The traceability of the supply chain is a very sensitive issue, both in fashion and in other sectors, but precisely for this reason various systems are also starting to be offered on the market that boast technical characteristics that they do not possess, warns Torrisi."There blockchain it is a set of characteristics that all have the same importance.Even just a little bit is missing for it to lose the properties of immutability, security and determinism that it should have.Spartan Tech, in this case with the Propagate product, offers 'properly done' tracing, public, decentralized, verifiable directly by users".
