After the 2024 move from Rome to Misano, Formula E will not make any stops in our country next year.Is it goodbye or goodbye?

Hoping it's just a goodbye, in 2025 there Formula E it will not be in Italy. For the first time since 2017 our country will not host any competition of the most important event dedicated to electric single-seaters.An event that - it almost seems like a joke - will experience the next edition calendar longest in its history, with 17 races in 11 different locations and expected returns like that of Miami and of theIndonesia. But without the one in Rome.

The critical issues of the Roman circuit for a Formula E race

In the beginning it was there Capital.EUR city circuit, one of the most loved by drivers and spectators precisely because it is located in the urban fabric, with the track passing through the heart of the neighborhood not far from the historic center of the city.A location of great charm, but less and less capable of meeting the requirements of safety continuously updated in light of the increase in power of the racing cars:huge amounts of funding would be needed to approve the track in the near future.

And so the Italian stage of the last world championship - last 13 and 14 April - had moved to Misano. In just three months, in the province of Rimini they had been able to organize an ePrix by taking advantage of the permanent structures and excellent organizational know-how;but despite the good influx of public - around 25,000 spectators, in line with the Roman event of the previous year - no agreement was reached for 2025.

Misano is a candidate for the near future

Andrea Albani, managing director of Misano World Circuit, assured that “the Motor Valley and Misano World Circuit are unquestionably fertile ground. We will keep interest high in a competition which, as we understood well last April, represents a balcony overlooking the future, also with regards to motorsport. We are in contact with the Formula E board to find spaces for collaboration that stimulate a path, also made up of interlocutory events, aimed at the return of an ePrix in Italy in a short time."

Meanwhile in the next edition of the world championship there will be the long-awaited return of Miami together with that of Indonesia, which last year had withdrawn due to the coincidence between the date of the competition and that of the elections. The eleventh season will begin in Saint Paul on December 7th following the pre-season tests on November 4-7th in Valencia. It will be the first time the brand new racing car GEN3 Evo will be put to the test and tested in public, capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 1.82 seconds, a 36 percent higher performance than the current GEN3.
