“Appointments like those of Nicolosi have the aim of discussing information to obtain indications, guidelines and advice which, if followed, can allow an increasingly wider range of people to use the paths in reasonable safety, with benefits for everyone's health ”, says the general vice president of the Italian Alpine Club Laura Colombo.“As Cai we intend to put everyone in a position to enjoy the physical, physiological and psychological benefits ensured by walking immersed in the nature of mountain environments”.
The practice of trekking, "which allows you to combine physical activity with frequenting natural environments, is increasingly widespread due to the growing need of people to return to a simple life, to rediscover a dialogue with themselves, to consolidate or create new friendships but also just to 'feel fit'”, says the president of the CAI Central Medical Commission Carla D'Angelo.“From these premises we want to discuss, inside and outside the CAI, however share the potential of trekking activity with respect to prevention and health promotion and indicate the fundamental rules for safely tackling a multi-day hiking experience on long routes. We are convinced that walking on mountain paths improves people's psychophysical well-being."
The Nicolosi conference, aimed mainly at CAI members but open to all (free participation upon registration) therefore intends to represent an opportunity to acquire useful information thanks to the numerous interventions of the program, by the members of the central medical commission and the peripheral ones of the CAI and by members of the Italian Society of Mountain Medicine and the Italian Society of Mountain Therapy, with whom a section of the day is shared.
